How do you figure out if you have come into contact with a user who may pose a potential threat to your safety and the safety of other users? There are a number of signs that you can rely on when making this decision:
1. Any information in the user's profile seems inconsistent to you (name, age, photo, or any information that the user shares in correspondence).
2. No verification icon in the profile. Of course, not all users want to undergo photo verification for reasons unrelated to the desire to harm other people. However, if an unverified profile behaves in an uncomfortable or suspicious manner in communication, this is a reason to stop communicating with them.
3. Any hints or requests of a selfish nature. Catchyy is a place to find love, not to solve financial issues. If someone asks you to transfer money for urgent needs, donations, or a ticket to the place of your intended meeting, you are most likely dealing with a scammer. This also includes any requests for gifts and services. We recommend that you immediately stop communicating with such a person and send a complaint to Support.
4. The user sends you external links or tries to transfer communication to other platforms. Remember that we can only protect you while you are on the platform. Do not transfer communication with strangers to other social networks and do not follow suspicious links, because your safety is beyond our competence there.
5. The user asks for personal information. This may concern your phone number, address, information about what school your children go to or what cafe you visit most often. Of course, some of these questions are quite normal at the stage of acquaintance, however, carefully think about what information you share in order to protect yourself not only on the platform but also in real life.
6. Offensive communication. If you feel that another user is behaving aggressively, sharing information that seems inappropriate to you, or you feel signs of sexual harassment, this is a clear sign that you should stop communicating with this user.
If you encounter any of these situations in communication, for your safety, we recommend that you immediately stop communicating, block the user and complain to Support so that we can take the necessary measures.
